CHICAGO — The Western Athletic Conference announced Monday that Yanlis Feliz, Chicago State redshirt sophomore outside hitter, has been selected as the conference's Offensive Player of the Week. This marks the third time during the 2021 season that Feliz has earned the recognition.
Feliz racked up 43 kills, averaging 6.14 per set, during two matches against Grand Canyon and New Mexico State.
Feliz capped the regular season with 499 kills, averaging 5.25 kills per set, the most per set in program history. Feliz finishes the regular season slate in the top three of NCAA Division I and led the WAC in both categories. Her 499 kills are the second-most in CSU history.
After the most prolific regular season in Division I program history, 17-win Chicago State will soon make its second consecutive Western Athletic Conference Tournament appearance. The Cougars face Stephen F. Austin in the first round on Thursday, November 18 at 5 p.m. CT. The Cougars earned the WAC's No. 3-seed after finishing second in the West Division.

Their feat marked the first time the Chicago State's men's track & field program was represented at the national meet.
