November 9
Men's Basketball
vs. University of St. Thomas, 7 p.m., Jones Convocation Center, Chicago
A new era of Chicago State men's basketball will begin Tuesday, November 9 at the Jones Convocation Center in Chicago when new head coach Gerald Gillion leads his team against the University of St. Thomas, a team making its Division I men's basketball debut. The Cougars will open with back-to-back home games against Division I opponents for the first time since 1989-90, welcoming SIUE to the JCC on Nov. 12 following Tuesday's game. Women's Basketball
at Wichita State, 12 p.m., Charles Koch Arena, Wichita, Kansas
Head coach Tiffany Sardin begins her second season at the helm of the Chicago State women's basketball program, traveling to Wichita, Kansas to take on Wichita State to open the 2021-22 season on Tuesday, November 9 at noon at the Charles Koch Arena. The Cougars' first home game is scheduled for Saturday, November 13 against the University of Alabama Birmingham at noon.
 
 
November 11
Volleyball
at Grand Canyon, 7 p.m., GCU Arena, Phoenix, Arizona
A big week for the Cougars volleyball team begins Thursday, November 11 in Phoenix when CSU will play Grand Canyon University in a battle for the top spot in the Western Athletic Conference's West Division. The Antelopes enter the contest 9-4 in league play and 17-5 overall while Chicago State is 8-4 and 16-8 overall. A win would propel CSU past GCU into the top spot of the West Division with one remaining regular-season match to play. The two teams played Oct. 9 in Chicago with the Cougars earning a 3-2 win (24-26, 25-17, 25-15, 19-25, 15-11). GCU has won 20 consecutive home matches, the fifth-longest active streak in the nation
 
 
November 12
Men's Cross Country
at NCAA Regionals, 12 p.m., Ashton Cross Country Course, Iowa City, Iowa
Cougars senior Jonnathan Fernandez will compete in the NCAA Regional Cross Country Championship on Friday, November 12 at noon at the Ashton Cross Country Course in Iowa City, Iowa. The men will run a 10K race and participants include Bradley, Creighton, DePaul, Drake, Eastern Illinois, Illinois, Illinois State, Illinois-Chicago, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Loyola-Chicago, Minnesota, Missouri, Missouri-Kansas City, Nebraska, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois-Carbondale, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, St. Louis, Tarleton, Tulsa, Western Illinois and Wichita State.
 
Men's Basketball
vs. SIUE, 7 p.m., Jones Convocation Center, Chicago
Chicago State men's basketball will host its second game of the week on Friday, November 12 at the Jones Convocation Center in Chicago against SIUE. The game is the second of two back-to-back Division I home games to start the season for the Cougars, something Chicago State men's basketball hadn't done since 1989-90.
 
 
November 13
Volleyball
at New Mexico State, 2 p.m., Pan American Center, Las Cruces, New Mexico
Depending on the results during the week, the Cougars could be looking to clinch the Western Athletic Conference West Division at New Mexico State on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Pan American Center in Las. Cruces, New Mexico. The Lobos, winners of three straight matches, are 18-7 overall and 9-4 in the WAC and play UTEP at home Wednesday, Nov. 10 before concluding the regular season with Chicago State. The Cougars and Lobos last played Oct. 7 in Chicago with NMSU earning a tight 3-2 decision (20-25, 25-20, 14-25, 25-12, 15-11).
 
Women's Basketball
vs. the University of Alabama Birmingham, 12 p.m., Jones Convocation Center, Chicago
The Chicago State women's basketball team will makes it 2021-22 home debut on Saturday, November 13 at 2 p.m. against the University of Alabama Birmingham at the Jones Convocation Center. Tickets for all Cougars home game are available here.
 
 
Looking Ahead…
Men's and Women's Basketball starts this week…
Following this week's men's and women's basketball home games (MBB Nov. 9 vs. St. Thomas and Nov. 12 vs. SIUE Nov. 12, WBB vs. UAB Nov. 13), both teams will be on the road until December, with the women returning to the JCC Nov. 1 vs. Indiana State and both teams playing at home Dec. 4, the women at noon vs. St. Thomas while the men will play at 4 p.m. vs. Tennessee State.
