Indianapolis, Ind. — The Chicago State men's golf team is currently in eighth place in the 11-team Butler Spring Invitational hosted in Indianapolis at the Highland Golf Club (par 70, 6,551 yards). The Cougars are +48 after 36 holes, four strokes behind Indiana-Kokomo. Individually,
Kevin Bullington shot two over 72 both rounds to pace the Cougars and is currently tied for seventh.
Indian Hills Community College is the Day 1 leader with a 569 (+9), followed by Valparaiso (+19), invitational host Butler (+21), Loyola Chicago (+24), Indiana Wesleyan (+34), Cleveland State (+37), Indiana Kokomo (+44), Chicago State (+48), Purdue Fort Wayne (+49), DePauw (+51) and Green Bay (+54).
Individually, Indiana Wesleyan's Cameron Luczka is the current event leader, shooting a two-under-par 138. Bullington's 144 (+4) leaves him six back, while
Keegan Easley (153) is tied for 41
st, followed by
Isaac Boore (T51, 155),
Joshua Stig (T54, 156) and
Grant Sell (T67, 162).
The invitational will conclude with 18 additional holes Tuesday. A shotgun start is scheduled for 8 a.m.
