CHICAGO — Chicago State head volleyball coach Tanio Trifonov announced Thursday that the program has signed Jaclyn Inclan to its incoming 2021-22 class.
Inclan, whose college career has run through the University of Arizona and the University of New Mexico, is regarded as one of the nation's most efficient setters.
"Jaclyn is a polished, energetic setter with a wealth of experience who adds a tremendous boost to our program," Trifonov said. "Coming from Arizona and New Mexico, she's proven herself to be an elite setter, and we're thrilled to welcome her to Chicago State. I've long been impressed with the precision of her sets and ability to run a great tempo to the outsides."
Inclan grew up in Tuscon, Arizona and graduated from Ironwood Ridge High School. At Ironwood Ridge, she powered her team to the semifinals of the Arizona Division 5A State Tournament and earned first-team Division 5A honors.
Inclan played one season at Arizona, appearing in eight matches on Arizona's beach volleyball team and posting a record of 7-1.
She then transferred to New Mexico, where in her redshirt freshman season, 2018, she played in all 30 matches and recorded 520 assists. Inclan dished out double-digit assists in all but one match and placed third on the Lobos' roster with 16 service aces on the season.
As a redshirt sophomore in 2019, Inclan bumped her assist output to 662 (5.96 per set), while firing 15 aces.
Inclan now joins a growing Chicago State program that earned its first-ever Western Athletic Conference Tournament win last season under the guidance of first-year head coach Tanio Trifonov.
"With the strides we've made in the last year, Jaclyn will help us mold the culture of this new era of Chicago State volleyball," Trifonov said.

Chicago State University Athletics is comprised of 15 intercollegiate teams involving over 150 student-athletes that compete in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and volleyball. Their feat marked the first time the Chicago State's men's track & field program was represented at the national meet.
