Men's Golf Scheduled to Begin Spring Season

This Week in Chicago State Athletics

COVID Protocols:
Face Coverings and Social Distancing will be implemented during athletically related activities to prevent transmission and prevent outbreaks based on current local guidelines.
 
PLEASE NOTE: Per City of Chicago and Cook County mandates, effective Jan 3, patrons to the Jones Convocation Center must show proof of vaccination in accordance with updated requirements. This is applicable to all patrons ages 5 and over. 
 
Tickets
There are no cash sales of tickets on site. It is strongly encouraged to purchase tickets online prior to arrival to the arena for entry. Please go to the ticketing page HERE, to see what is available and how to purchase.
 
 
February 2
Women's Basketball
vs. Abilene Christian, 6 p.m., Jones Convocation Center, Chicago
Promotion: Faculty/Staff/Education Game
The Chicago State women's basketball team returns home to host Abilene Christian on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. at the Jones Convocation Center. The game is the Faculty/Staff/Education where Cougars student athletes invite their professors, campus staff and other educators to attend the game. The Cougars dropped a pair of games over the weekend but won their last home game, 67-64 over New Mexico State, and are currently 3-14 overall and 2-6 in the conference. Abilene Christian is 14-7 overall and 6-4 in the WAC, having won two straight but are just 2-4 away from home.
 
Men's Basketball
at Abilene Christian, 7 p.m., Teague Center, Abilene, Texas
The Chicago State men's basketball team is scheduled to travel to Abilene, Texas to face Abilene Christian at the Teague Center on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. The Cougars enter the contest 6-15 overall and 2-6 in conference play but did win their most recent conference road game, at Lamar (79-65), while the Wildcats are 14-7 overall and 5-5 in the WAC. ACU is 9-3 at home this season but have lost three of their last four at home. Wednesday's game will be the first meeting between the two schools.
 
 
February 4
Men's Tennis
vs. Illinois State, 9 a.m., Atkins Tennis Center, Urbana, Illinois
The Chicago State men's tennis team is scheduled to face Illinois State at a neutral site on Friday, Feb. 4 at 9 a.m. The teams will meet and play at the Atkins Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois. Chicago State is 3-4 this season with victories over Marquette, Eastern Illinois and IUPUI while the four losses are all against Big Ten teams (Northwestern-twice, Illinois and Purdue). Illinois State enters the match 0-6.
 
Men's & Women's Track & Field
at GVSU Snowdown Showdown hosted by Grand Valley State University, All Day, Kelly Family Sports Center, Allendale, Michigan
The Chicago State men's and women's indoor track and field teams are scheduled to compete in the GVSU Snowdown Showdown hosted by Grand Valley State University at the Kelly Family Sports Center on Friday, Feb. 4. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:45 p.m. with the men's and women's high jump and conclude with running events scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
 
 
February 5 
Women's Basketball
vs. Tarleton State, 1 p.m., Jones Convocation Center, Chicago
Promotion: Pink Game
The Chicago State women's basketball team is scheduled to host Tarleton State on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m. at the Jones Convocation Center. The game is designated as the Pink Game for Breast Cancer awareness and is to raise funds for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The team will wear pink and fans are encouraged to do the same. Tarleton State is 12-9 overall and 4-6 in the conference and have lost two consecutive games and are 5-4 on the road this season.
 
Men's Basketball
at Tarleton State, 7 p.m., Wisdom Gym, Stephenville, Texas
The Chicago State men's basketball team is scheduled to conclude a two-game Texas road trip at the Tarleton State Texans on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Wisdom Gym in Stephenville, Texas. The game will be the first meeting between the two schools and Tarleton State enters the game with a 10-13 overall record and 5-5 in the WAC with a 7-3 record at home this season. The Texans played a competitive non-conference schedule, playing away games at Stanford, No. 3 Kansas, Wichita State, No. 20 Michigan and No. 1 Gonzaga.
 
Women's Tennis
vs. Bradley, 1 p.m., H-F Racquet & Fitness Club, Homewood, Illinois
The Chicago State women's tennis team is scheduled to host Bradley on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m. at the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club in Homewood, Illinois. The Cougars are 1-4 this season while Bradley is 0-4.
 
 
February 6 
Women's Tennis
vs. St. Thomas, 8 a.m., vs. Saint Francis, 2 p.m., H-F Racquet & Fitness Club, Homewood, Illinois
The Chicago State women's tennis team is scheduled to compete in a pair of matches on Sunday, Feb. 6 at the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club in Homewood, Illinois. The Cougars will face St. Thomas at 8 a.m. then Saint Francis at 2 p.m. St. Thomas is 0-1 this season and will play a pair of matches before facing the Cougars, playing at Lewis Friday and at Northern Illinois Saturday. Saint Francis is in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference on the NAIA and this will be their first match of the season.
 
Men's Golf
at 2022 VGA Intercollegiate hosted by Bucknell, Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge, Winter Garden, Florida
The Chicago State men's golf team is scheduled to start their spring schedule at the 2022 Veteran's Golf Association (VGA) tournament on February 6-8 at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winter Garden, Florida. Chicago State will compete against host Bucknell, Holy Cross, Stetson, Bryant, Siena, Missouri State, Bucknell (B), individuals from USF and UNF and a team of Veterans.

Men's and Women's Basketball Promotional Schedule
The Chicago State University Athletic Department released its 2021-22 promotional schedule for men's and women's basketball games at the Jones Convocation Center.

Join the Chicago State High Five Club
Cougars fans ages and 10 and under can join the men's and women's basketball teams on the court during introductions for a future game by signing up to be a member of the Chicago State High Five Club. 
 
Youth will create a high five tunnel before the Cougars run onto the court and will stand with the Cougars during team introductions and the National Anthem.
