Chicago State head men's soccer coach Norris Howze released the Cougars 2023 schedule today. The Cougars are set to open the campaign Aug. 24 at home against in-state foe Bradley at Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep Academy in Chicago, the site of all home men's and women's matches this season.
Chicago State will play eight non-conference matches in 2023, beginning (Bradley) and ending (UIC) the non-conference season at home before opening the 10-match Ohio Valley Conference schedule on the road at Liberty Sept. 28.
The CSU men's soccer team joined the OVC as an affiliate member in March in what is the OVC's 19th-sponsored sport and becomes the 24th Division I Conference to sponsor the sport. The OVC tournament champion will receive an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Championship.
"Our 2023 schedule is loaded with talented teams across the board," Howze said. "We have a challenging non-conference schedule and I believe that will prepare us for a challenging conference schedule. We are proud to represent Chicago State University in the Ohio Valley Conference and look forward to the challenge."

Four current OVC institutions field men's soccer teams: Eastern Illinois, Lindenwood, SIUE and Southern Indiana. In addition to Chicago State, Houston Christian, Incarnate Word and Liberty have accepted invitations to join the OVC as affiliate members, boosting the conference's inaugural season to eight men's soccer programs.
The teams will play a 10-game league schedule, playing three teams twice and four teams once. The OVC Men's Soccer Championship will take place November 5, 8 and 11 in Edwardsville, Illinois on the campus of SIUE.
