The Chicago State men's and women's track & field teams began their indoor seasons at the Wisconsin Indoor Invitational today at the Gately Indoor Track & Field Complex in Chicago.
Rikki Gray was the top performer for the women, establishing a new school record in the 300m in a time of 36.93, eclipsing the previous mark of 40.18 set by ToniAnn Ewen in 2019. One the men's side,
Mychah Spells turned in a sixth-place finish in the 60m hurdles, running an 8.36 in the prelims where he finished fifth then crossed the line at 8.42 in the finals.

The Cougars track & field teams will be back in action Friday, January 19 at the YSU Collegiate Invitational at the Watson and Tressel Training Site in Youngstown, Ohio. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
