Katarina Dukic Named Horizon League Singles Player of the Week

Chicago State's Katarina Dukic was named Under Armour #HLTennis Singles Player of the Week the league office announced today. 

Dukic went 2-0 at the No. 2 singles position in a pair of weekend matches and played a key role in the Chicago State women's tennis team clinching a share of the Horizon League regular season title with a 5-1 record. The conference title is the first for Chicago State in women's tennis who share the crown with Cleveland State and Youngstown State with identical 5-1 records. 

Dukic finished the regular season with a 4-2 conference record and is 7-3 in her last 10 matches. She now ranks third at Chicago State in career singles victories with 58, just behind twins Rosalina Juan Tejoprayitno (59) and Rosalia Juan Tejoprayitno (61).

Today's recognition is the fifth time this season the Cougars have landed the honor, with Manuella Eloundou earning the award two times and the doubles duo of Ethel Li and Sofiya Sedovich have been named doubles team of the week two times as well.

The Cougars will be back on the court Friday. Following the league's tiebreaker format, Cleveland State earned the No. 1 seed, Youngstown State No. 2 and the three-seeded Cougars will face No. 6 Oakland on April 26 at 2 p.m. CT at the Schwartz Tennis Center in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Katarina went 2-0 at No. 2 singles in Chicago State's two wins over the weekend with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at IUPUI and a 5-7, 6-2, 11-9 at Northern Kentucky
