The 2024 Chicago State women's tennis team earned the school's first-ever regular season conference title in tennis, first-ever conference tournament title in tennis and first-ever NCAA Women's Tennis Tournament bid. Following that historic run, head men's and women's tennis coach
Jack Barton announces his resignation to pursue a business opportunity within the tennis community.
"I want to thank President Z Scott, Dr. Monique Carroll, the entire leadership teams for athletics and the University, and most of all the student-athletes, current and past, for allowing me to be the best version of myself these last 14 years," Barton said. "This is just a new chapter in my life that allows me to be more present with my wife and daughter. I will always and forever be a Cougar."
"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to coach
Jack Barton for his exceptional dedication and contributions to Chicago State University for over a decade," said Dr. Monique Carroll, Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. "We thank him for his time at Chicago State, his remarkable achievements, and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.Â
A national search will begin immediately.
