BIRDGEWATER, N.J. - Fresh off a solid showing at the Tennessee Invitational, Raymond Oriakhi was named NEC Track Athlete of the Week, this is his first honor of the outdoor season after winning Most Outstanding Track Athlete at the NEC Indoor Championships
Oriahki set new personal bests in the 110m and 400m hurdles last week. In the 110m hurdles the England native ran a 13.78 and took third in the finals with a 13.96. In the 400m hurdles, he ran a 53.75 placing him fifth. Both of these times top the NEC this outdoor season.
Teammate Nikai McNee was also named an NECÂ Prime Performer after jumping a 14.69m in the triple jump at the Tennessee Invitational.
The Cougars are next in action this weekend at the Ball State Invitational in Muncie, Indiana.
