Men’s Hoops Adds Torrence Johnson to Coaching Staff

CHICAGO, Ill. – Chicago State University and Head Women's Basketball Coach, Landon Bussie, announces the hiring of Torrence Johnson as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach.
 
"Coach Johnson is a Chicago, Illinois native that has been on the Junior College circuit, he will bring energy and excitement to Chicago State," said Bussie, "With Coach Johnson joining the family we expect him to use his relationship and connections to recruit top talent in Chicago. I am excited about him being here at Chicago State and I believe his future is bright." 

Johnson joins the Chicago State athletics staff after serving over a two-year stint as the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Navarro College.
 
Johnson served as a graduate assistant at UNLV and at Wake Forest University (2018-20), where he played two seasons after transferring from Northern Arizona University.

The Chicago native averaged about six points during two seasons with the Demon Deacons of the Atlantic Coast Conference after leading NAU Lumberjack scorers with 11.5 per game in the 2017-18 campaign.
