Chicago State Women's Golf Earns 2026 NEC Team Sportsmanship Award

CHICAGO, Ill. (June 4, 2026) — Chicago State University Women's Golf has been recognized with the 2026 Northeast Conference (NEC) Team Sportsmanship Award, honoring the program's commitment to integrity, respect and exemplary conduct throughout the 2025-26 season.

The award, voted on by the conference's student-athletes and coaches, recognizes the team that best exemplifies the principles of sportsmanship, ethical behavior, and fair play both on and off the course.

"This recognition speaks volumes about the character of our student-athletes," said Director of Golf Jean Macon. "We emphasize competing with integrity, respecting our opponents, and representing Chicago State University with pride. To be recognized by our peers across the conference is a tremendous honor and a reflection of the culture our team has worked hard to build."

The Cougars continued to make strides during the 2025-26 campaign, demonstrating growth and competitiveness while upholding the values that define Chicago State Athletics. The NEC Team Sportsmanship Award highlights the dedication of the student-athletes, coaching staff, and support personnel who consistently represent the university with class and professionalism.

"At Chicago State, we are committed to developing champions both on the course and in the classroom," Macon added. "This award is a testament to the way our student-athletes carry themselves every day and the pride they take in being part of the Cougar family."

The recognition adds another milestone to the continued growth of Chicago State Women's Golf and reflects the department's commitment to excellence, sportsmanship, and student-athlete development.
